Voice for Children are proud to share a poem written by the talented Kayleigh. S, St Helens about her and her siblings journey through care. Please give it a read and if anybody has anything to share, we would love to hear from you:
“Although I have moved from place to place,
I am finally settled but in my heart,
there is still a big place.
My brothers and sisters were placed elsewhere,
I was worried that they might have thought,
I didn’t care.
It was a whole month before I saw them again,
the time we spent together made me happy,
and I forgot I was in care.
Then it was time to say goodbye,
my heart began to sink and I started to cry.
Although I see them often, it’s just not the same.
I miss living with them again and again.”
